The 1860s-80s painting depicts a very grey & blue landscape with a middle ground of a small smoking cottage at the edge of a cliff facing a dark lake with mountains in the background. The piece is signed "A.L.J" in the bottom right corner in ink. The back is signed in ink also is signed "Lake of Cappul 'Cuarig'? N. Wales" The Gouache painting is behind glass in its original antique gold leaf frame. Approx. Dimensions: Framed: 13 1/2" x 17 1/4" Art (without back matte): 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" Art (with back matte): 11' x 15" Condition: This 19th century Grand tour painting is in beautiful age-related condition. It has slight water damage marks in the bottom left of the painting. The frame has some chipping in two corners and a very small bubble imperfection on the glass in the top right.
