A stunning C.1930s Bronze Panther by Louis Albert Carvin. The Bronze Panther sits stoically
atop a rectangular marble base marked near its tail "L. Carvin". This sculpture was artistically
rendered by an artist whom spent a lifetime studying the form, style, and movement of animals
associated with the Art Deco period.
Louis-Albert Carvin (1875-1951) formally studied at École des Beaux-Arts in France.
He was given France's Medal of Honor in 1894 and was a member of the Society of
French Artists. Carvin’s work was frequently exhibited at the Salon des Artists. His
animal sculptures, such as the one listed above, are highly regarded and sought after.
