A great rectangular Georgian pocket snuff box adorned with a repousse scene of two peasant men standing by a table in front of a fenced in village. All four of the box's sides are reeded with a hand tooled design. The front of the box has a cast floral overhang to open the box. The bottom of the box is decorated with a machine pattern. The snuff box has a hinged opening top with a guilt interior. This detailed snuff box was made and dated circa 1834 by Edward Smith of Birmingham, England. Silver Marks: -Anchor (Birmingham, England) -'ES' (Edward Smith) -"L" (letter & font marks it circa 1834) Approx. Dimensions: Width: 7 cm Height: 1 1/2 cm Depth: 4 cm Weight: 72 g Condition: This silver snuff box is in good age-related condition. Various dents and wear around the box, overall wear from use.
