The basket is edged with a reeded design.
There is a band inside the basket alternating engraved floral and greek key designs.
The basket is hallmarked by Robert and David Hennell.
The makers mark reads "RHDH," in a square.
The "L," is the date mark for 1806 during the reign of king George III.
The township mark is the leopards head which is the symbol for London.
The shape of the basket is very rare and hard to find.
On the top of the handle there is a lion passant coat of arms with the words "Essayez." this translates from French to: "try" in English.
