This mid-19th-century Coin Silver teapot or covered pitcher was made by the renowned American silversmiths Samuel Kirk & Son. It features an overall Baltimore Style repoussé design, featuring floral patterns, birds, dogs, and a rams head handle.
The lid is unusual and uncommon; it hinges open on the side to reveal a strain at the spout. The front of the pitcher has the initials "G.D.A." framed by the floral pattern and dog. Specific for a particular drink, this is a rare pitcher.
On the underside of the teapot are the hallmarks:
