A very good piece of 18th/19th American Redware
Deep plate, bowl.
The original glaze has the authentic cracked look, with the beautiful
Red Orange color, the old baked back is blackened from age & use.
Crenulated / Coggled Edges.
The American Redware was earthenware, very often with a glaze,
used for a wide variety of kitchen and dining functions.
A piece in good condition is very collectible.
By the 19th century, redware plates became so popular they were made as gifts.
Condition: This 200 + year old plate is in very good age related condition.
Signs of use & wear are beautifully preserved
