We are now offering an early American, Pennsylvania area,
oil painting "Portrait of a Lady" 1830 - 1840
This primitive, portrait was created by an itinerant artist of the day.
The painting is unsigned as were many of this period.
This portrait is beautifully done. The sitter is smiling (does she have a secret?)
Notice the wonderful detail on the lace and ribbons of her dress,
also the detailed expression on her face and beautiful eyes,
This indicates a higher price was paid for this portrait.
We'd obviously love to attribute this portrait to a particular artist; any ideas?
She has two Wedding rings, indicating she is on her second marriage.
Framed in a Period style Birdseye maple frame with a gold fillet.
Dimensions:
canvas - 27" x 20 1/2"
frame - 29 1/4" x 22 3/4"
