A rare pair of c.1920's Art Deco, Cubist style, French Bulldog Bookends.
They were manufactured in Germany by the Sitzendorf Factory
between 1918 and 1928.
These appear to be very rare, we cannot find any others like them.
These adorable French Bulldog Bookends are made of
high end white porcelain, they have brown & black colored glass eyes.
There is gilt porcelain trim around the ears and face,
Gilt trim to the ruffled collar and button front, and they have gilt painted toenails.
With gilt trim around the back book braces.
Sitzendorf 1918 mark to the bottom of each bookend.

Condition:
These bookends are in a fine age-related condition with a couple
of very minor chips to one of the back book braces and one very minor chip to one toe .
