A rare heavy Tenney sauce spoon/ladle in the King's pattern. This ornate Coin silver beauty was made for the NYC Retailer, by Wood and Hughes in 1840. The name "Tenney" has been ranked in the same league as Tiffany & Co. The W. I. Tenney Jewelry & Silversmith family, worked in coin silver items at 251 Broadway in New York City from the years of 1828 to 1848. A Tenney coin silver tray is in the permanent collection of the Brooklyn museum, alongside other great silversmiths.

Marks: "W.M. I. TENNEY" "251 B.WAY" **"251 B.Way" mark indicates that Wood and Hughes made this for the NYC Retailer.
