A Meiji period circa 1900's, Beautiful Japanese Bronze Censer (incense burner) 
of a Boy playing the Flute, returning home on the back of a Buffalo.
(also referred as a water buffalo or an ox)

This is a metaphor, in Japanese Zen, Chan Buddhism,
about training the mind for enlightenment.

The Bronze Censer has a wonderful patina 
and is traditionally made from cast bronze,
of a Boy playing a Flute riding on the back of the Buffalo.
Floral hand decorated saddle and very nice detail to the boy.

Condition:  This beautiful little bronze censer is in its original age-relate condition.  
                  It has one replaced link on the chain and possibly the pin. Lovely patina
