19thc 1800s Moscow Russian 84 silver spoon set of 5 We are offering... A wonderful mismatched set of Russian silver spoons decorated with a twisted neck from 19th century Moscow. The two largest spoons are engraved with patterns on the underside of the spoon's bowls. The Largest spoon is engraved with a swirling geometric Russian pattern and is marked "AK" for silversmith Antip Ivanovich Kuzmichev. We believe this one to made made somewhere between 1880-1894. The second largest spoon is engraved with a floral bunch and is marked A.A. 1895 for silversmith Andreì Andreev Aleksandrov. The third largest spoon is marked on the interior of its bowl with an unknown (not legible) letter mark, as well as '84' with the Moscow St. George on horse hallmark. The fourth largest spoon is engraved with a leaves and shield motif on the back of its bowl. This spoon is marked CKл (SKL in Russian) (Unknown Maker), '84' silver with St. George on horse hallmark. The smallest spoon is gilt silver & engraved with a floral motif on the back of its bowl. It's marked 'IФ' ('Dotted i' (Ii), F in Russian) made in '1877' 'OT' the maker is unknown to us. Russian silver is based on zolotnick standard, which consists of a variety of titre ratings, or degrees of purity. The most common zolotnick standard is 84, a number which is often stamped on Russian silver and signifies a purity level of 87.5 percent. Marks: Largest Spoon: 'A.K. '188?'
