A Late 19th Century Hand Painted Portrait of Prince Otto von Bismarck
Prince Otto von Bismarck was born April 1, 1815 in Schönhausen, Altmark of Prussia
[Germany] and died July 30, 1898. He became the prime minister of Prussia
(1862–73,
1873–90) and founder and first chancellor (1871–90) of the German Empire. Within
Bismarck's first 9 years of ruling as Prussia's prime minister, he
turned their narrative
as the weakest of the five European powers to becoming
victorious in three wars, and
the emergence of the unified German Empire in
the heart of Europe. After 28 years
as prime minister and 19 as chancellor, the
map of Europe had been changed beyond
measure.
