an antique 19th c. Pewter folding sandwich box.
These small Sandwich boxes were filled with very thin sandwiches
and used with the wicker picnic baskets that were popular during
the mid 19th c. Victorian era.
The box hung from it's allotted hook on the interior of the basket.
