A wonderful late 19th Century W & S Blackington Co. sterling silver blackberry spoon. The Gilt bowl of the spoon has a scalloped edge with a raised floral motif towards the handle. The end of the handle has inlayed enamel with hand painted blackberries on the vine. The spoon is marked on the underside with "sterling" and has the W & S Blackinton Co. silver mark. Fruit was a seasonal luxury in the 19th century and therefore was accompanied with high end utensils. Approx. Dimensions: Height: 8 1/4" Width: 2 1/4" Condition: In great age related condition. Enamel paint has some wear. The Original Gold Platting on the scalloped bowl is still good Please see all photos for complete description.
